• Stephen Connor, PhD, Executive Director for the Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance was honored with the Herman Feifel Award for Contributions to Thanatology from the International Work Group on Death, Dying and Bereavement (IWG). Herman Feifel wrote the first academic book on death, dying and bereavement in 1959. Founders of the IWG included Cicely Saunders, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Herman Feifel and other luminaries of the time.
  
  
• Melanie Perry Hall, President and CEO for Hospice of Huntington, West Virginia, is being honored with the City of Huntington Foundation's 2025 Wall of Fame.

  54 CAHPS Honors Elite Award Winners and 214 CAHPS Honors Award Winners are listed. These national recognitions are presented by HealthCare First, a part of MatrixCare. These awards are based on satisfaction scores from the Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey. "Honors Elite" status is awarded to those hospices that score above the national performance score on 100%, or all twenty-four, of the evaluated questions.

  The annual SHPBest™ program was created to acknowledge hospice providers that consistently provide high quality service to families and caregivers of patients receiving hospice care.
