Foundation Director Emily Sims said the idea behind the event was very simple. “We have a wonderful treasure trove at our Thrift Shoppe and wanted to do an event to feature all the awesome finds. Each ‘celebrity model’ was given the budget of $25 or less for their outfit. They were allowed to wear additional clothing items or accessories of their own if they could not find it in the store,” Sims said. “We hope to bring awareness to what our Thrift Shoppe has to offer and encourage that you can find great, stylish outfits for very reasonable prices.” Runway models, awards and catered dinner made the evening an enchanting event for a great cause.

More than $600,000 in critical funds were raised under the tent to support patients and families seeking end-of-life care. Over 600 guests gathered at the sold-out event, named for the 12 patient rooms at the home, for an evening of impact and inspiration. Family hospice experiences were shared, colleagues were honored, and live entertainment was provided by local musicians Steve and Sarah Bass. “Our ability to increase patient care access is directly due to the fact that this community supports our non-profit mission,” said Renee McInnes, MBA, RN, CEO of NVNA and Hospice. “Each year I am overwhelmed by the generosity that continues to grow along with us.”

All proceeds raised from the tournament will be used to ensure as many people receive hospice care as possible, Central Wyoming Hospice Executive Director Kilty Brown said. “The money will primarily be going back to our hospice homes,” Brown said. “We have 14 beds that are open to the public, and anyone can come in, whether they have insurance or a way to pay or not.” Brown estimated that the event will bring in upwards of $70,000 ...

Hospice House has provided end-of-life care and support for upwards of 150 guests annually since its facility opened in 2002. More than 3,000 people have stepped through its Powhatan Parkway doors in that time. And it did it all free of charge, according to Executive Director Brandon Randall. ... To meet that mission, the nonprofit relies on community donations to the tune of $1 million per year. Donations are also what made Hospice House’s renovations possible. ... The final phase of renovations starts in July and is expected to be complete in 12 weeks. During that time, staff will continue offering bereavement support services.

The purpose of the event is to raise money to help the community have access to quality end-of life care. The 75 mile ride led by the Davidson County Sherriff's Office started and ended at Denton Farm park. "I had a son that was in a near drowning accident and at the end of his life, the hospice team had to come out and minister to him." attendee Lahoma Workman said. "Just helped us through the hardest time that a family could go through. They were there for us and it was just an awesome experience." ... This year alone, the Hospice of Davidson County has given over $350,000 worth of charity care to families that couldn't afford to access their services.

During a presentation at the prison, a check for $5,000 was presented to All God’s Creatures and a check for $10,000 was presented to Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice. ... The $10,000 provided by MPCF for their donation to Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice came from a car washing and detailing program that incarcerated individuals at the prison perform for MPCF staff. Stroud explained that the prison still has a hospice room but said its lack of use in recent years persuaded staff to look consider donating money elsewhere.

Tuesday, after some discussion on the appropriateness of the county giving taxpayer dollars to nonprofits, the Kosciusko County Commissioners approved recommending to the County Council that seven nonprofits receive the same amount of funds in 2025 as they did in 2024. [Among the organizations listed is] Stillwater Hospice, $50,000. ... [Commissioner Cary] Groninger said the county council would have the final say on the nonprofit funding. ... [Commissioner Brad] Jackson said the decision was a tough one and they didn’t just want to stop providing funding without giving the nonprofits notice.

While Hannah Debney was cared for at Acorns Children's Hospice in Walsall, she made a heart shaped sculpture as a keepsake for her mother, Christine Debney. The hospice is appealing to the public to dedicate a metal heart to the memory of someone they have lost, which will form part of a display. Ms Debney said the hospice was "amazing" and added: "They allowed us as a family to be together during her final days. ... “Hannah said she wanted to tell the doctors to stop," Ms Debney said. "No-one should have to make decisions like that. It was Hannah who said she wanted to go to Acorns Children’s Hospice and to be transferred there.” Christine described her daughter as "the bravest person" she had ever known. Hannah died 15 days after she arrived, but while she was at Acorns she made keepsakes for her family. They included a cast of her hand in the shape of the heart for her mother, and that symbol inspired the Hannah’s Hearts Appeal.

Kieran McLaughlin will run from his home in Dundonald to the charity's home on Racecourse Road in Ayr and back on the first six days. On the final day, Kieran will start and finish at Racecourse Road to round off his week of fundraising. Kieran is running in memory of his dad, John. Over the last four years, he has raised more than £50,000 for the charity.

Held on a beautiful Sunday morning at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Hospice of the Western Reserve’s signature annual fundraiser surpassed the event’s previous attendance records, with over 2,600 participants united to support the organization’s mission and to honor loved ones who have passed away. This year’s Walk to Remember also set a new fundraising record, with donations and sponsorships exceeding $380,000. ... The atmosphere at the event was one of camaraderie, remembrance and hope. As participants arrived, the sense of community was palpable. Families and friends gathered at the morning event, many wearing personalized shirts and carrying photos or mementos of their loved ones.
